About Us

The creation of Healing Heart Center was inspired by a desire to continue to offer counseling services to those interested in a holistic approach to healing. The name is based on the premise that healing takes place in the heart center. We are also interested in healing the brokenness that takes place in the heart, the center of unconditional love and the foundation of ones identity and purpose in life.  

Holistic healing includes the mind, body and spirit. These aspects of one’s existence are inseparable and the interaction effects the overall health of the individual. We are all familiar with statements like “butterflies in my stomach” (anxiety), “breaks my heart” (sadness), “pain in the neck” (irritation) “weak in the knees” (fear). We utilize techniques to assist in healing and balancing the thoughts of the mind, emotions in the body and the spirituality of our clients.

Betty specializes in using hypnotherapy in her practice. In June 2001 she received training from the Wellness Institute in Issaquah, Washington and is now an Advanced Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Betty has continued her own professional education and personal healing through regular participation in the Mentors Program at the Wellness Institute.

Betty McDivitt has been a therapist for over 30 years in Connersville, IN. She is a life-long member of the community, currently living on her childhood farm with her husband Paul. They have three adult children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her early post high school education is Bachelor and Master Degrees in Biological Science, Secondary Education. Following a spiritual realization of her life purpose, she returned to academia in 1987, enrolling in Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis. She later transferred to the School of Social Work at IUPUI. She was employed at Dunn Center following graduation. For the past 18 years she has been in private practice doing business as Creative Counseling Services, until recently creating HHC.
